PROCACCINI MIXED-USE COMPLEX, MILAN
Architectural re-styling.
A ‘milanese’ architecture
The architecture of the volumes generates a “typically urban” scan, characterized by the succession of distinctive and recognizable buildings. It alludes to the variety and metric complexity of the neighboring urban fabrics. The individual “bodies” are variations on the theme of the city.
The variations occur within a predefined register of rules, those dictated by the eave heights, the string courses, the openings, the height of the ground floors. It is a reworking that brings into play the styles and characters of Milanese architecture that belong to the past but also to modernity. A reference to the passage of time, a time not necessarily far away.
